Helping mid-to-late career professionals reinvent what’s next
As a result of our work together, you’ll develop deeper self-awareness, greater resilience, and the confidence to make clear, thoughtful decisions. It all starts with understanding the patterns behind your thoughts, emotions, and choices. If something’s calling you to grow, let’s explore your path forward.

A little about me
Before becoming a coach, I was a product designer. When people asked what I did, I’d say, “I’m a designer—I make things easy and hopefully delightful to use.” I thought I would only ever work as a designer: studied it in college, got a job quickly, and off to the races. And it was a great career. I loved the problem-solving aspect and creating clear, meaningful experiences for others. I loved the craft of it.
In 2024, I was laid off. It wasn’t completely unexpected—the company wasn’t doing great, and there seemed to be a round of layoffs every quarter or so. Even so, at 57, I felt that my age had something to do with it. Tech can be ruthlessly ageist. Six months before the layoff, I was given an ultimatum: take a two-step demotion to remain an individual contributor, become a manager, or leave. It told me everything I needed to know about the new management that had moved in, so I chose the manager route and started making exit plans.
I updated my portfolio and started looking for another design job. When the layoff came, I was ready. Admittedly, I was also disappointed and a little sad—for a short while. I liked the team, and after seven years there, I felt like I had made a positive impact that maybe wasn’t fully appreciated. As part of the layoff package, I had access to outplacement services through Lee Hecht Harrison. They provided a trove of incredible information through webinars, classes, and one-on-one coaching. After only a couple of weeks, I started thinking, “Hmm, maybe I should explore what coaching is about.”
I could see that coaching had parallels to design. The same skills—empathy, deep listening, curiosity—are just as essential. And I had mentored dozens of interns and junior designers throughout my career, so I knew I liked helping people.
I decided to say goodbye to my 34-year career and shift.
I researched various coaching programs and pretty quickly chose the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) to guide me through this transition. Their Core Energy Coaching™ philosophy explores how our thoughts and emotions shape how we show up in the world—and how, by shifting that energy, we can create lasting change.
So now, instead of designing products, I’m helping mid-to-late career professionals design lives that feel authentic and aligned—moving from functioning to thriving!
How we work together
Coaching is a journey—and it starts with a conversation
We’ll begin with a complimentary Discovery Session so you can get a feel for me as a coach, ask questions, and see if we’re the right fit for each other.
If you decide to move forward, we’ll start by working together over the course of 9 weeks. During that time, we’ll explore what truly matters to you, uncover beliefs or patterns that may be holding you back, and identify what’s getting in the way of the life or work you want.
Together, we’ll set meaningful goals and create action plans to help you move toward them—one intentional step at a time. I’ll be there to support you, celebrate progress, and help you stay accountable along the way.
